Central Jersey A Team Wins Championship Match

CRANFORD - The Cranford PAL Central Jersey A Team wrestled South Plainfield under the spotlight on 2/16/2017 for the championship and were victorious in an exciting match.

Program Director Kevin Murray said, "In a unbelievable match last night the Cranford 'A' team won the CJYWL Dual Championship last night with a hard fought 40-37 win over South Plainfield."

The Cranford High School Wrestling Squad under the direction of Coach Pat Gorman came out and supported the Central Jersey squad during the championship match.  "They were not just there because they 'had to be' - they were genuinely engaged in the match and the kids," said Program Coordinator Rob Kanterman.  "I really believe that the enthusiasm and electricity that they provided was a big difference in the match."

PAL Executive Director Matt Nazzaro thanked the many volunteers who have made this season a success for all PAL Wrestlers.   "We are fully supported by volunteer coaches, parents, and cops", said Nazzaro.  "My thanks to Coaches Daly and Schultz, Program Coordinators Kanterman and Hooey, Program Director Kevin Murray, and CHS Coach Gorman for bridging the gap between our feeder program and our successful high school program."
